Mother tongue! What's that?

Hi, this is Adam from Alpha F. Consulting and in this topic we will talk about "What is your mother tongue?", and I mean your mother tongue and my mother tongue.

There is a big debate about this, and people are asking, what is exactly considered a "Mother Tongue"?

Here is the shocking truth about what is considered a mother tongue. According to psychology: "Our mother tongue is the language we use to think, dream and feel emotion", sounds good?

So, it does not need too much efforts to have English language as your mother tongue, even if your country does not speak the language. Not only that, but also even if you have a really bad accent when you speak English, as long you are using this language to think, dream and feel emotions.

But you know what the problem is? When people pretend that they have perfect English, but the truth is, they are nothing but a pain in you head.

Stop using the word "SHOCKS". - You don't look cute by the way! Besides it is super annoying.

Anyway! It is totally fine if you have an accent if it is not your native language, there is no need to pretend, I mean we can not be all native speakers.

Am I a native English speaker? No
Does English is my mother tongue? Yes - According to Psychology

What do you need to do so your English will sound better? Okay, now we're talking!

1. Avoid the phrases that will show the defects in your accent. Meaning, do not put too much efforts in using so many words to show off, because it sounds terrible.
2. Take Phonetics course by someone native
3. Rearrange your sentence so that you will sound more clear to the person you are talking to (The person you are giving a headache basically).
4. Practice makes perfect
5. Open your mouth when you are speaking
6. Drink water
7. Work out - What is the connection? No connection! But it is good for your health though

I do not want to hear someone saying for example: "How the things are going for you?", It is too long and so damn heavy, c'mon guys! There is so many ways to say what you want like, instead try to use "Howzit goin/ How is it going" sounds nicer and smoother, in other words, make it simple.

Avoid using the word "Okay", and use "Alright" instead; because "Okay" does not sounds Okay at all, it is actually sounds more like Okkhhay, I mean, for real?

Shocks! I am kidding, Just try to simplify the sentence, and master the language.

I hope you got my point guys, and if you follow these tips, you will gain more confidence and more comfortable with the language.

Like I said, I am not a native speaker, but I was able to find my way around. You too find your way around like I did, you will see the change.

Languages is suppose to make our life easier when we communicate with other people, specially those from different background and culture, don't make it hard, make it seamless.

Philippines Law - Simple & Easy [How to protect yourself and your beloved ones]

Law in the Philippines!

Hi, this is Adam from Alpha F. Consulting and in this topic we will talk about Law. Well, not really....actually...let's just see then.

Here is something I have learned living abroad. If you are living in country, or decided to live in specific country, you must learn and educated yourself about the law that this country is running by - Running buy? I am not sure if this is a real sentence -.

Among all the things you might or might not know in  your life, whether it is about economy, religions, sports, even local news, knowledge of the law has always been more powerful than anything else.

I am not going to complicate things to you and tell you that the Law can change countries routines and regimes, and can start a world war or can destroy nations.

I am talking to you from a very basic understanding of the law, and how it will affect your life as individual.

Alright! So the law is not a small book, its hundreds of thousands of books, so what exactly I am looking for.

On daily basis, you have to know what is considered a crime, what is a felony, a misdemeanors, or infractions?

After know those definitions or terminologies, find out the penalties whether if it is a prison time (how long is it), or a fine (how much is it).

Why you need to know that? First of all, to avoid to committing it. Second of all, you have to know your rights, and there is certain lines in your life, no one has the right to cross it, whatsoever.

The beauty of the law, it is applied to everyone one, including the president of the country itself.

I know there is those specific people who are always above the law, always know, with the proper evidence and witnesses and power of the social media now, pretty much the justice will take place, no matter which class you belong to, you just need a class A Samsung made in Korea with a camera, and you are good to go, the bottom line is, nowadays, it is easy to get a evidence.

And by the way the "above the law people", yes they are real, and they do exist in every country, but let's be honest, you really think that for an average person, you will ever even meet them? I doubt it, and believe you don't need to meet them, and they don't want to meet you either.

I am talking about the people you are dealing with on your daily basis, at work, at school, in the street, your neighbors, your manager at work, your colleagues.

People who is always good in annoying you, piss you off, insult, or offend you, and they think they are funny.

Well, let me be a little bit in your faith, and tell you, no more.

How to react? Specially if we are facing sexual harassment, or sexual gesture, offense, insulting, discriminate by any shape.

1. Rule # 1, Don't feel sorry for anyone, because no one felt sorry for you.
2. Rule # 2, Don't apologize when you complain, (I am really sorry that I have to do this, because you are not and they need to know that.
3. Rule #3, Be straight forward (Example: I live in the Philippines; search for the article number that this person has broken and mention this in your message/email).

"This person has committed a violation against (me / or your beloved ones) according to the congress of the Philippines, Republic act No. 9262, by using verbal harassment, I hope this person can afford to have a lawyer; and ready to ruin his life with imprison and penalties he will pay."

Rule #4, know the process! If this happen in a corporate office, you will not do anything, the HR is obliged to take address the situation, if they did not for any reason, you make sure you mention in the email, that if they did not do anything about it or ignore it, you will consider them participate in that crime by helping a criminal to get away with his crime, and believe me, in case you don't know, HR is humans, and they want to keep their job, and they have personal life to worry about, and when they feel that you actually might take an action against them, they will help you to get what you want; because they don't need troubles in their life. - FYI.. some people really afraid of HR -.

Let's stop here for a moment, I said "Criminal", I know for so many, it is a big word, but the truth is, this is what the law is describing them, they just did not know that there is consequences of their own actions. So don't feel bad about them, don't feel bad that a very cool guy or girl in our age, being called criminal for something, some people will think it is a joke, but they beauty of the law is that the law don't joke with us.

In a corporate world, life is easy, but you have to be diplomatic. Meaning of this, when you have meeting , and most likely they will set up a meeting between you and the person you are complaining about, prepare your documents, print out the points he has violated - you are now your own lawyer - Also i am assuming that there were witnesses already.

Tell the HR, and the manager, in front of the person you have an issue with, that you will not take any action in regards of your civil rights - Meaning: you are taking this person to court, and that you trust HR they will take a proper action to address this issue - and you are giving this guy a chance, and the Philippines law is giving you up to 5 years to file this case against him, so if every in the upcoming 5 years this person commit anything, you will no longer going to HR and you will proceed with your civil rights.

This is a game changer, 5 years, you will only get all respect from this person, maybe he will realize his fault, maybe not, but it does not matter because the outcome of this, you know your rights and you know what you can do with it. You can not force everyone to like you, but you can force them to respect you.

On other hand, if things went out of control, and you have to take this to next level, you must read the process and how to file a case.

In the Philippines, you don't just go to the court or the police station. There is something smaller than police station, called barangay, you go to the barangay in the area that had the incident, and from there, you right what happened, you attach the evidence, could be pictures, recordings, names of witnesses, and if it legit, they will give you a paper to go to police station - If it is not legit, they are not giving the paper you need to go to police station - From there they will tell you what to do.

After all, the point behind this article not to cause troubles to anyone, however, you need to know your right, therefore putting limits for some particular people who have always find it funny to invade your privacy, disrespecting you, or hurting your dignity, only because they have some issues in their personality, not to mention feeling better about themselves.

I hope you find this article useful. I tried to make it seamless; because some people think that you need a law degree to know your rights. I have a law degree myself but I could not say that I have practiced it, but I am sharing with you my personal experience and the little bit knowledge that I have, that actually helped me and helped my beloved ones.

In the end, I had to highlight few points, and I encourage everyone to read and expand their knowledge. Also you can always seek the help of a good and affordable lawyer in your country, but I suggest that you read more on your case before you go to an attorney.
